DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
BOSTADIN is administered orally. The tablet may be taken without regard to mealtime. Children 2-5 years should take pills with lots of water.
Adults, children 12 years and over: 1 tablet once daily.
Children 2-12 years:
- Children 2-5 years: 5 mg (½ tablet) once daily
- Children 6-12 years: 1 tablet once daily
Safety and efficacy of loratadine for children under 2 years have not been established.
Patients with hepatic or renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min):
- Adults and children over 6 years: initial treatment with 1 tablet, every 2 days.
- Children 2-5 years: 5 mg (½ tablet), every 2 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to loratadine or to any of the ingredients.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Patients with hepatic impairment.
The administration of loratadine may cause dry mouth and increase risk of tooth decay, especially for the elderly. Therefore, dental hygiene is necessary while using loratadine.
Loratadine should be used with caution in pregnant and lactating women.
SHELF-LIFE: 36 months from the manufacturing date.
