Treatment of vertigo symptoms.
The elderly suffering from loss of memory, vertigo, a lack of concentration or of alertness, changes of mood, a deterioration in behavior, and personal negligence, demonstrate an improvement in symptoms.
Acute ischemic stroke.
Treatment of alcoholism.
Treatment of sickle-cell anemia. Supportive treatment of dyslexia in children.
Used as an adjuvant in the treatment of cortical myoclonus.
POSOLOGY, METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Method of administration: For oral use.
Usual dose for adults: 1.8 g - 2.4 g / day, depending on indications, divided in two or three doses. Divided in 2 or 3-4 doses.
Usual dose for children: 50 mg/kg/day, divided into 3 times.
Long-term treatment for psycho-organic syndromes in the elderly: 1.2 -2.4 g daily, depending on the case. The dose can be as high as 4.8 g daily during the initial weeks of therapy.
Treatment of alcoholism: 12 g/day during the initial withdrawal period. Maintenance treatment: 2.4 g/day
Cognitive deficits resulting from head injury: the initial dose is 9-12 g daily; the maintenance dose is 2.4 g given orally for a period of not less than 3 weeks.
Sickle-cell anemia: 160 mg/kg daily, divided in 4 equal doses.
Cortical myoclonus: a recommended protocol would be to begin treatment with 7.2 g of piracetam daily in 2-3 divided doses. This dosage should be increased by 4.8 g per day, every 3 or 4 days until obtaining a satisfactory response or a maximum dose of 20 g daily.
Dosage should be reduced in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment based on creatinine clearance (CC):
CC from 50 - 79 ml/min: 2/3 usual daily dose, divided into 2 or 3 doses
CC from 30 - 49 ml/min: 1/3 usual daily dose, divided into 2 doses
CC from 20 - 29 ml/min: 1/6 usual daily dose, 1 single intake
Patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance of less than 20 ml/min): should not be used.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Piracetam is eliminated via the kidneys and care should thus be taken in cases of renal insufficiency.
For patients with hemodynamic disorders, major surgery or severe bleeding because Piracetam affects platelet activation.

36 months from the date of manufacture. Do not use the products over the expiry date.
