BOSTON PHARMA INCREASED OPERATION WITH BASE.VN

Boston Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company Vietnam has collaborated with Base.vn as a strategic partner and launched internal management activities on this platform in order to improve work efficiency and be ready for breakthrough growth.

After 15 years of establishment and development, Boston Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Boston Pharma) has been known as a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Vietnam, with more than 200 products including medicines and health supplements, Boston Pharma provides about 1.4 billion product units to customers per year.

According to Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy Lieu, Chief Financial Officer of Boston Pharma, the company is in a period of rapid expansion and growth. This year, Boston Pharma will upgrade the factory to GMP-EU (Good Manufacturing Practices European Standards), and a new factory is expected to come into operation in 2023 in order to increase capacity and respond to pharmaceutical products demand.

With the goal of "fast-paced" growth, Boston Pharma is aware of the fact that technology investment is the leverage to accelerate progress and improve work efficiency. From 2019 to now on, the company has continuously applied advanced technologies such as ERP to manage production, finance, sales, or Base.vn platform for internal operation management.

"In recent years, the company has grown very rapidly, and the volume of work has raised significantly, which easily leads to missing work or time – wasting used for searching information to handle the work. The processes go through many stages, may be overloaded or blocked at some point, and affect other departments. Boston Pharma has decided to cooperate with Base.vn to thoroughly solve these problems", Ms. Lieu shared.

"The combination of ERP and Base software can be jokingly said to be like a ' the match sword', both of which make working between departments become smoother. If ERP supports standard process management and ensures synchronization, Base is suitable for more customizable workflow management processes. When emerging needs to create a new process or adjust an existing process in accordance with the actual operating situation, employees with administrative rights can actively create without a deep understanding of technology," said Ms. Lieu.

In June 2021, Boston Pharma officially applied Base Work+ and Base Info+ solutions to internal operations and management processes. Accordingly, tasks, processes, proposals, and documents will be connected and operated on a common platform. Particularly, the core operations of the pharmaceutical industry such as research and  production are also tracked on the Base system.

For example, the process of researching new products will need the coordination of many departments such as: Sales department providing market information and research requirements, the R&D department  evaluatesrequirements, the Finance department  analyzes efficiency, Purchasing department looking for ingredients. After that, the R&D department carries out  research, trial productions, and quality  tests, and applies for a Drug Registration Certificate. Thanks to the Base's applications, processes are standardized and clearly linked, personnel avoids missing work and deadlines are always under control.

At the True Builders Talk high-level conference organized by Base in Ho Chi Minh City, the leader shared her practical experience when using Base Workflow: "For the Debt team, now we just need to create recurring jobs for employees to actively check the deadline. All data is seamless and everything is standardized, managers only need to see the results through statistical reports. Collaborations between departments are getting smoother and better connected."

Base has brought real value to each member at Boston Pharma and also motivates everyone to actively transform digitally. With more than 200 processes already operated on Base Work+, departments feel the change ssignificantly At the end of 2021, the Sales and Accounting Department handled twice the number of contract settlement documents but in a shorter time than in 2020.

"We can work anywhere, whether at home, office in Ho Chi Minh City, a factory in Binh Duong or Hanoi, Da Nang branches, because everything has been put on the software system. Time is significantly reduced. Thanks to timely digital transformation before the COVID-19 pandemic’s outbreak, we still function well during the time of social distancing. A pandemic is a test for businesses. Enterprises that implement digital transformation and technology applications in operation and management will create many advantages for themselves to overcome and continue to develop," concluded  Ms. Thuy Lieu.
