THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH PROPOSES TO DECLARE THE END OF THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC BELONGS TO GROUP A

The Ministry of Health has built a control plan, instruction for supervision, and treatment related to Covid-19 epidemic for localities to implement when announcing the end of the Covid-19  epidemic belonging to group A.

On September 27, the Ministry of Health said there was a submission to the Government regarding the issuance of the Prime Minister's decision to announce the end of the Covid-19  epidemic belonging to group A and abolish several documents of prevention and control Covid-19 epidemic by the National Steering Committee, against Covid-19 (Steering Committee) and the Prime Minister of issue.

The Ministry of Health clearly raised throughout the past 3 years, that prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the Steering committee, National Assembly, Government, Prime Minister, Ministry of Health and ministries, and localities have issued documents direct activities for prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic; while many stipulations and unprecedented special measures, therefore changing groups will require synchronous adjustments to epidemic prevention and control measures being applied.

According to the draft decision attached to Proposal No. 1247/TTr-BYT of the Ministry of Health along with the announcement of the end of the Covid-19  epidemic in group A and execution of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control under group B, cases of Covid-19 patients being treated before the effective of this decision will continue applying for payment according to provisions of Resolution No. 80/2023/QH13 on January 9 of the National Assembly on continuing to implement several policies in preventing and controlling Covid-19 epidemic until the end of treatment period.

According to the Ministry of Health, the epidemic surveillance system in recent months has not recorded any deaths due to Covid-19, patients decreased in low, fluctuating from 12 - 70 cases/day; For many days, there weren’t any cases requiring ECMO treatment or mechanical ventilation. The total of vaccine doses that have been administered is more than 266.53 million, while high-risk persons vaccinated repeat, and maintain immunity.

Regarding treatment, domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers ensure the source of materials and antiviral drug Molnupiravir for treatment of Covid-19 cases.
